Albert Edward was born in Wokingham in about 1886, one of about 11 children born to Sarah and Abraham Langley.
He served in the Royal Berkshire Regiment, 2nd Battalion and was killed on 2nd April 1918, sadly his body was never recovered from the battlefield but his name is commemorated on the Pozieres memorial to the missing .
He married in April 1911 and according to the local paper after his death he left a wife and child. To date we do not know who they were.
