William Henry Jones. 1899-1918
William Henry Jones was the eldest son and 4th child of Alice and Henry Jones of Honey Hill, Wokingham. He was born on 7th April 1899.
His father Henry was a domestic groom. William joined up in May 1918, the 2nd Battalion Worcestershire Regiment (regimental number 69065) and by the beginning of June he was in France. It would appear that he survived the war itself as he was de-mobilised in 1920 and we have been unable to find out when he died. W Jones is quite a common name and as this serviceman was from Bracknell, we cannot be sure that it is the same as the W H Jones on the memorial.
