Ernest Bennett. Died 24 June 1920
Ernest George Bennett was the eldest son of George and Alice Bennett of Five houses, London Road, Wokingham. George snr was a labourer at Woodcray Farm. By the end of the war the family lived at 5 South Place, Peach Street, Wokingham. He had a younger brother, Frederick Charles.
He served in the Royal Berkshire Regiment and at the time of his death was attached to the 17th battalion of the machine gun corps.
He seems to have been part of the post war garrison in what by then was Iraq and died in Baghdad in 1920.
