Frank Goddard. Died 30 June 1916

Frank was one of 7 children born to Jerry and Henrietta Goddard. The family lived at 2 Luckley Path, Wokingham. Jerry was domestic gardener.

In 1911 Frank was 14 and working as a page at a private prep school nearby. Wixenford, today is better known as Ludgrove though the area of Wokingham is still called Wixenford.

Frank joined the Royal Sussex Regiment, enlisting in Eastbourne, 12th Battalion (2nd South Downs – sd/2251) and was killed fighting at Richebourg near Loos on 30th June 1916, aged 20. His body was not recovered and his name is on the memorial to the missing at Loos.
