Reading Chronicle Saturday 10th July 1915 – “WOKINGHAM MAN KILLED IN ACTION: Deep regret is felt at the death of Corporal H. Cooper, 6th Somerset Light Infantry, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Cooper of Seaford Road, Wokingham who was killed in action on June 25th. He had only been at the front a few weeks and was a very promising young soldier. His death cast a gloom over all his company and sincere sympathy is felt with his parents”.
