George Dandridge. Died 1 July 1916
George Sidney Dandridge was the son of Major and Mrs Charles and Florence Dandridge and was born in Burgess Hill, Sussex. He had 2 sisters, Kathleen and Gladys and in 1901 the family lived in Worthing. Charles was a retired Army officer.
By 1911 the family lived in Woolston, near Southampton and George was a student of marine engineering.
He enlisted in the Queen’s (West Surrey) 7th Battalion and became a 2nd Lieutenant. He died on 1st July 1916 on the Somme and is buried in Danzig Alley cemetery. His family address was given as 82 Westcourt Road, Worthing.
We do not know how he was connected to Wokingham.
