Lawrence Earl. Died 17 October 1918
Laurence was the son of Alfred and Harriet of 24 Mount Pleasant, Wokingham. He was one of 5 siblings and his father was a carpenter.
1st Royal Dragoons Badge
By 1911 he was already serving in the Army in the 1st Royal Dragoons.
When Laurence was killed he was serving in the Labour corps (3629) on 17th october 1918, so near the end of the war. He is buried in Janval near Dieppe.
The CWGC information says he was the husband of Jessie of 182 Blythe Road, West Kensingon.
A Small article in the Reading Chronicle on 26th October 1918 tells of his death;
“Trooper Laurence Earl has died of illness in hospital in France. He was at one time a chorister of St Paul’s church and was for some years a teacher at the Sunday school. “
