William Goswell. Died 8 March 1917
William was born in 1898, the eldest son of William and Martha, in Wokingham. William snr was a brickmaker and in 1901 the family lived on London Road. In 1911 they lived at the same address and were joined by another little Goswell, John born about 1907.
William jnr joined the Royal Berkshire Regiment 5th battalion (number 17928) and died in the Arras area on 8th March 1917.

He is buried in the Faubourg D’amiens cemetery at Arras. After the war his parents moved to 12 Waterloo Road.
